Rituals of Memory
Kimberly M. Blaeser’s article “Rituals of Memory” details her ideas about memories. Blaeser begins with various wonders. Blaeser compares their relationships to family, place, and community to her friend’s curly hair. Her story defines her culture. In the story, she tells us we all come from different cultures. Next, Blaeser and her friends go to the cemetery then to the Indian burial grounds to celebrate both of the narrator’s culture. It’s important to her because she has respect for both of the them. She also says every culture uses stories to teach. She talks about her Native America life and school. She’s glad she’s part of both cultures.
